What You Can Expect
After a pick-up, a local tour guide will be glad to start your tour, crossing the Nile River to the west bank, taking you to visit the necropolis of the ancient city of Thebes. First visit the Valley of the Kings, you will see 3 tombs of the most famous Pharaohs of Egypt’s New kingdom. Guides are not allowed inside the tombs, but your guide will tell you what to look for inside the elaborately decorated tombs.There is an additional cost to visit the tomb of king Tutankhamon.
Then visit the temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Your guide will gladly tell you the history of this monument, and tell you how she acted as a male to gain the throne. You will have a free time to explore and wander the large courtyards, while admiring the intricate hieroglyphics.
Returning to Luxor, there will be time for a brief photo stop at the colossi of Memnon, which marks the site of a funerary temple of Amenhotep III.These two giant statues standing tall, and proud on the west bank are sadly all that remains of the ancient complex.
In addition, you will have the chance to visit an alabaster factory and purchase genuine items, if you wish so. At the end of the tour you will be transferred back to your place of choice in Luxor.
